Shankar (Dilip Kumar) helps Parvati with the delivery of their cow (when her brother Jagat was away). When Jagat returns he finds Shankar (whom he doesn't like too much) in his house and asks him what he is doing there. As Shankar responds, Jagat's sister Parvati comes to his rescue,
"aur bhaiyya, aaj ye bechara Shankar hamara haath na ba.nTaataa, to na jaane kyaa hotaa"
Jagat quickly assesses the situation and like all smart householders comes up with a statement that ensures that he will not have to pay too much money to the aide (Shankar). A great technique to lower the fees is the lower the value of the service.
"Hain!...hotaa kyaa? Arre gaay ko bachhDaa hi to hotaa, koi bandar thodi ho jaataa?"
"हैं! ...होता क्या? अरे गाय को बछड़ा ही तो होता, कोई बन्दर थोड़ी हो जाता?"
then he goes on to offer some money to shankar
