mere itne qareeb mat aao, main tumhen barbaad kar duungi

 Film: Raaz

Year of release : 2002

Spoken by : Malini Malik (Malini Sharma)

Spoken to : Aditya Dhanraj (Dino Morea)

Dialogue writer : Girish Dhamija

This was the beginning of the Raaz franchise. This one was copied from the English film, What Lies Beneath. But if you see, Raaz is different in many ways. Songs for one. And in Hindi films the hero cannot die.

This film is shot largely in Ooty. Dino Morea has an affair with a mentally disturbed girl played by Malini Sharma. She lands up one rainy night at Dino's doorstep and seeks refuge. Dino provides more than refuge. One thing leads to another as they say. It develops into a full blown affair. But the girl is very possessive and the relationship takes a dark turn.

One day as Dino is going around looking for Malini, he finds her playing violin in the woods. She stops playing the violin and says,

"mere itne qareeb mat aao, main tumhen barbaad kar duungi"

Dino responds with

"main barbaad honaa chaahta huun"

As things turn out, Dino's prognosis is almost proven right.
