Film: Billoo Badshah
Year of release: 1989
Spoken by: Billoo (Shatrughan Sinha)
Spoken to: Roshan Lal (Vishal Dutt)
Dialogue writer: Mahesh Rawat
A Bobby-esque scene (like the one with Premnath and Pran). Here Billoo is seeking an alliance for his siter (unlike Premnath). The rich father of the boy (Govinda) insults Billoo by offering him a settlement amount in exchange for Billoo's sister leaving Govinda alone. After a harangue aimed at the Seth, an angry Billoo bellows,
Lata Mangeshkar was once asked about her marriage (or the lack of it). She famously said the birth, marriage and death are pre-ordained by destiny. Probably she had seen Billoo Badshah. Though why she would do that beats me.
Useless trivia: the music of this film is terrible and is scored by none other than Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh!
